This drawing didn't take too long but I like how it turned out. It made it easier that I didn't have to worry about matching a particular shape because it was partly based on my eye, partly on a reference picture. I've drawn eyes in the past but never a full page drawing.
Wow, great eye, Zethra! You've got eye anatomy down pretty well :) I like the detail in the iris.

Thanks! The iris was definitely the most fun part. The eyelashes were a little difficult, but towards the end I discovered how sharp my pencil sharpener can actually sharpen, so that helped a lot. Thanks for the tip about curling the eyelashes though!
ReplyDeleteAny tips for learning to draw portraits? I've tried faces a few times but not with much success. The hardest part for me is making the second eye the same as the first
