White Horse

I'm pretty sure this is my best drawing yet. It surprisingly didn't take that long. My favorite part was the shading on the body and two hind legs. I think the chest and head could have been done a little better though.

  1. First of all, I really like the title of your blog. It's really adorable!!
Did you know that we both did this drawing?? It's quite funny, because in some parts of the drawing, you did better than I did! The head is the part that made me really notice the drawing; you made it look real. The only thig I would change is how the eyes are positioned. Try and hide the left (it's right) eye, because the head is turned away a little more, and horse's eyes are on the side of the head. But other than that, it's good!

The second part that caught my attention, and you said it yourself, was the rear leg (the one that is stepping forward). The shading on that is pro! You even got the reflection highlights in.

Yes, the chest muscles on horses are hard, no matter which way you look at it. It's one of those things that need to be drawn over-and-over (I still have trouble with it). Which can be hard to do, I know :) Repetition is the key. But you're definitely on the right track! Keep it up!!

  3. Thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean about the eye needing to be more hidden.

And yes, if you have any suggestions about the arrangement of the blog, please do suggest them. Just want to note a couple things: I posted them all on one day only because I just set this up. In the future I'll just be putting them up as I draw them. Also, the ones that are up right now are in chronological order, so that's why the ones on the bottom might seem a little worse than the ones on top. (I think the oldest one was done around 4 months ago.)

  4. Your welcome! Yeah, just a little bit, but for people that don't have an artistic eye won't notice it (I just do), so you don't HAVE to change it :) You have an artistic eye, and things will come with time.
